Organic Schisandra chinensis: Wild cranberries
Schisandra chinensis is named for its "five flavors." Originating in Shaanxi Province, China, it is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. We extract precious active ingredients from Schisandra chinensis fruit as the main ingredients in our sensitive skin series, effectively soothing sensitive skin and reducing redness.
Schisandra chinensis
Schisandra chinensis is a twining shrub that grows in the wild (without pesticides or fertilizers) and is widely distributed in the temperate forests of central China. This berry, which resembles a gooseberry, is also widely found in the temperate forests of southwestern China, renowned for its beautiful scenery and rich biodiversity. We are involved in conservation efforts in this region, also known as the "home of the giant panda"—a true sanctuary for this endangered species.
Mustela's local influence
Schisandra chinensis is harvested by hand using traditional methods by local farmers in nearby villages, providing sustainable employment for over a hundred local residents.
This harvesting method causes absolutely no harm to the environment. After drying, the fruit is pressed and extracted using enzymatic hydrolysis.
They are air-dried in China and then squeezed and extracted in France.
