    A French family brand that has been committed to protecting the skin health of you and your babies since 1950.

    Founded in 1950, Mustela was created by Paul Berthomé in collaboration with pharmacist Claude Guillon, who pioneered the first bath wash specifically designed for infants' skin. Beyond its groundbreaking technological innovations, Mustela is dedicated to providing parents with new skincare options, developing products based on the diverse needs of infants, allowing parents to enjoy more relaxed and comfortable parent-child time.

    For 70 years, we have witnessed the birth of millions of newborns. To protect their delicate skin, we adhere to our brand philosophy: as a skin care brand with natural sources, we work with parents to protect the healthy growth of infants and young children, making every moment of parent-child time simpler and more enjoyable.

    1950

    Paul Berthomé collaborated with pharmacist Claude Guillon to develop the first cleansing milk specifically designed for baby's skin. This is not only a technological innovation, but also a new way to save parents time.

    1977

    The company has begun to produce its own plant-derived active ingredients (extracts, distillates, oils, emulsions, powders) using green technologies that respect humans and the environment, such as molecular distillation and biotechnology.

    1982

    The Mustela Foundation was established to support research and development programs related to children and parenting worldwide.

    2004

    Jean-Paul Berthomé, son of the founder, signed the United Nations Global Compact, demonstrating a forward-looking commitment to corporate social responsibility.

    2012

    Mustela published an unprecedented global study in the British Journal of Dermatology, bringing a significant breakthrough to the field of dermatology. The study revealed the immature skin barrier in children under two years old, and the four skin types that humans inherit at birth.

    2018

    Mustela has been awarded the B-type Corporate Certification, a forward-thinking mark awarded to companies that do not aim to be "the best company in the world" but rather to be "the best company for the world".

    2019

    At the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Mustela pledged to work to help achieve the 2050 global climate goals.

    An independent family business

    Mustela remains a family brand today: it belongs to the family of Paul Berthomé, the founder of Laboratoires Expanscience. His son, Jean-Paul, is currently the head of the company.
