With the arrival of a baby, fatigue, and changes in body shape, we often forget to take care of ourselves! However, it's crucial to carve out some time for ourselves. Easier said than done? Here are some suggestions.
Take a nap
Automatic mode:
The baby is asleep, hurry up, there are so many things to do!
Zen Mode:
Baby's asleep, stop and take a break! Enjoy a cup of tea while reading, call a friend, get a beauty treatment… or even take a nap. A break will make you more relaxed, and you'll be more patient with your baby… and with Dad!
Put on some light makeup
Automatic mode:
Tired, no time, limited social life... makeup disappears.
Zen Mode:
You may not be able to do a full-on makeover, but you can complete four basic steps in two minutes: BB cream, blush, lip balm, and mascara.
Avoid tedious housework
Automatic mode:
Supermarkets, waiting in line to process documents, ironing clothes... there are always things to do.
Zen Mode:
Daily purchases and administrative procedures should be completed online as much as possible. When at home, I can sit and iron clothes, or have my dad do it for me.
Protect your hair
Automatic mode:
At most, you can just tie your hair up in a simple bun. The worst thing is to feel depressed about losing hair, which is normal after postpartum hormonal changes.
Zen Mode:
Schedule a haircut to get a new hairstyle or highlights. If you are experiencing severe hair loss, consult a dermatologist immediately.
Buy some new clothes
Automatic mode:
I can't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes anymore, and I'm tired of maternity wear, but I'll buy them again after I lose weight.
Zen Mode:
It takes 6 to 12 months to get back in shape, so start by choosing affordable brands! A nice sweater, a couple of tops, a pair of pants... can improve your image and mood!
Do some gentle exercise
Automatic mode:
Exercise? When? How? Now is not the time...
Zen Mode:
Don't put pressure on yourself. Here are three steps: 1. Don't start strenuous exercise without your doctor's approval; wait for your pelvic floor to recover. 2. Choose gentle activities: swimming, Pilates, yoga, etc. 3. Not interested? Take your baby to the park, carry them up the stairs… burn calories and improve muscle firmness.
Offer gifts that promote physical and mental well-being
Automatic mode:
When someone asks what we want, we immediately think of a baby.
Zen Mode:
Why not ask your parents, sisters, or friends to prepare a gift for you? Consider things like a manicure, a home massage, or babysitting services.
Embrace your body again
Automatic mode:
No time, don't want to do it, not the right time...
Zen Mode:
Taking care of yourself and your body postpartum is the best way to regain a woman's confidence. Give Dad 20 minutes each morning and evening to care for the baby, and enjoy some time for yourself: a bath, a manicure, and a firming and moisturizing treatment to rejuvenate yourself!
Bravely wear beautiful lingerie
Automatic mode:
Postpartum libido is no longer a priority, and there is discomfort with one's body shape.
Zen Mode:
Regain your confidence with sexy lingerie! Even while breastfeeding, you can find beautiful and affordable sets and say goodbye to old-fashioned bras!
Enjoy reading
Automatic mode:
Parenting guides, pregnancy and childbirth encyclopedias, the art of motherhood... While practical, they trap us in a bubble.
Zen Mode:
Also read books purely for enjoyment. The latest novels, women's magazines, or Sudoku—give yourself some time!
