Ideal bathing method
Adults often enjoy a warm, relaxing bath after a busy day, but this isn't the best choice for the skin—especially for children with atopic dermatitis. In fact, hot baths can reduce the oily layer needed for the skin's protective barrier (see the atopic dermatitis section ).
Does this mean you should completely avoid baths? No, especially if your child enjoys playing in water. You can let them bathe two to three times a week , but be careful: limit playtime in water between 35°C and 37°C to no more than 10 minutes. For added peace of mind and effectiveness, you can add a bath oil specifically designed for infants and toddlers . Just two to three capfuls are enough, offering numerous benefits: it counteracts dryness from cleaning, replenishes moisture, and instantly soothes itching. Plus, it's convenient and requires no rinsing!
Ideal shower
At other times, it's best to give your baby a five-minute shower, with the water temperature not exceeding 35°C .
To avoid harmful factors to the skin, choose soap-free products or cleansing gels with the same pH as the skin. Even better, try a cleansing cream specifically designed for infants and toddlers , suitable for atopic dermatitis, providing excellent comfort. Suitable for both body and face, it thoroughly cleanses and protects baby's skin, soothing it from birth, leaving it soft and smooth while reducing itching . Another advantage: it won't irritate the eyes!
