Holidays are indeed a time for relaxation and freedom, but there are some things that cannot be ignored when caring for babies prone to atopic dermatitis.
First, let's talk about geography. Can you take your child anywhere? Of course! However, you must pay attention to the climate and season . If you fly to a very hot place, sweating will exacerbate the itching. Cold weather is also not ideal: dry air can easily dry out the skin.
Even so, as long as you develop good habits and apply moisturizer daily, everything will be fine (see the benefits of moisturizers). Whether you go to the beach or the mountains, each vacation destination has its unique benefits.2

Proper care methods for babies with atopic dermatitis during holidays

For your peace of mind, please pay attention to the items you bring in your luggage. Wherever you go, please remember to bring:
    - Cleansing and moisturizing products specifically designed for infants and young children. If you are certain that these will be readily available at your destination, you only need to bring a few days' worth. If in doubt, it's best to bring enough for the entire trip.
    - A doctor-prescribed treatment product for acute attacks. Please keep the prescription in your makeup bag or among important documents for immediate use.
    - Fragrance-free, high-protection sunscreen suitable for atopic skin, with a high SPF if you are going to a sunny place.
    - Cotton underwear and clothing, whether in winter or summer (see "What should people with atopic dermatitis wear?").

Note: Recommendations for preventing eczema recurrence during holidays

Is your child going on vacation to visit grandparents or cousins? Perhaps a checklist of tips for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis can make things easier: "Apply moisturizer daily, keep pets out of the house, vacuum regularly," and more. You might want to start writing down your own checklist now, just in case.
